Pom Pom Magnet Activity

When I found this activity on a few other blogs I got so excited about it. This activity is great for a Fine Motor activity for your child. With the printables we have children play with color, patterns, numbers and have fun in the process.

What you will need:

  • Package of multi-colored pom poms
  • Magnets (I used magnet strips cut into pieces, there are some already circle magnets you can use as well)
  • Lamination paper (many different kinds out there)
  •  Glue Gun if needed
  •  Cookie Sheet
  • Printables (from our Printables tab named "Pom Pom Magnet Activity, Rainbow Pompom Template and Dot Numbers")
1st thing I did was print out the pictures and laminate them with the lamination paper I picked up at Hobby Lobby. If you dont have a Laminator buying sheets can get expensive. The pack I got was 10 single sided pages that I put 2 one on each side to laminate the page completely. I also instead of having multiple pages laminated 2 pages per sheet so that it can be turned around and used twice.

2nd thing I did was cut the magnets and adhere to the pom poms. My magnets had adhesive but I quickly figured out a little dap from a glue gun made the magnet much more secure on the pom pom. (This was the part of the project that took the most time)

3rd I grabbed some red spray paint that I already had in the garage and spray painted the cookie sheet to make it fun looking as children put their different pictures on it to do their activity. I let it dry over night to make sure there was no wet paint on the cookie sheet to get on our newly made printables.

NOW YOU ARE READY TO PLAY!

**** Side note these printables can also work great with dot paints if your child feels the urge to paint one day!!

Lastly these are the two awesome blogs where I got the printables and the great ideas from!!
