Read a book, do a craft

This is such a creative idea for little ones! It makes reading so much more fun when you know you get to craft something to go with the book. Not only that, now the next time you and your little one read that book you will have a fun little prop to go with it. My daughter and I decided to read the book, Horton Hatches the Egg and then make an elephant mask out of a paper plate. Rylee doesn't like to color much, but as soon as I handed her the paint for the plate she was all for it. After it was all done she kept saying, "This elephant is so cool!" It was a fun project and we will definitely be making more fun crafts to go with her books.
If you decide to make the elephant I have put the cut outs in our printable tab so feel free to use those. The elephant would work great with the book, Horton Hears a Who and of course any other book you have that has an elephant :)

Items you will need to make the elephant...
*Paper plate
*Grey paint
*Popsicle stick
*Extra paper to make the ears
*Elephant Printable (or your own elephant design)

Hope you and your children enjoy this fun and exciting craft!
