Paper Plate Animal Craft

So one of my trips to the Dollar Store I came across these Paper Plate Craft Kits. I bought them just because they looked fun and knew my girls would enjoy them. I took them home and placed them aside for a good time to do it. One night after bath my girls wanted something to do so I pulled out this craft. I had 2 different versions that make different animals. They had fun doing this all by themselves. Thought I'd share this EASY and CHEAP activity for your little ones!!!

Dinosaur excavation!

This activity was SO fun!! We found a kit at TJ max that was called the Dinosaurs Excavation and after Rylee played with it I decided this would be a perfect fun homemade activity for kids!

All you will need to make this kit is Plaster of Paris, some Dinosaurs and some chiseling equipment around the house. You can find packets of Dinosaurs at All A Dollar:)

Making Plaster of Paris is super easy!
* 3 cups of flour
* 2 cups of water
Put the flour in a large size bowl and whisk the flour to allow air throughout it and then slowly stir in your 2 cups of water.

After you have made your plaster put it into whatever shape of mold you would like and place the dinosaurs in the plaster. Let it harden and when it is done let your kids go to town! I its messy but so much fun and entertaining. I was even entertained when I was helping! Hope you enjoy this super easy and fun activity! Give us feed back on how it worked for you:)

Sorting, Counting and Graphing Gummy Bears

So I am sick in bed with a cold and decided to post one of the 2 activities I have needed to post for awhile now. This was an activity that my daughters did at school and I thought I would recreate and share.

                              What you will need:

  •  A baggy full of gummy bears.
    • I had about 15 or 16 in each bag making sure there were multiples of each color

  • Sorting Gummy Bears Printable
    • Found under printables tab

  • Gummy Bear Graphing Printable
    • Found under printables tab

  • Crayons, Colored pencils, or Markers
    • Red,Orange,Yellow,Green,Blue

Have the printables, the baggy of gummy bears and the crayons out on the table. You can read the instructions on top of the pages to the child or go through step by step with them. Have them color the bears the correct color, have them sort the bears then can count and write the number in the box and then can go on to graph. (For graphing the white the child could use a regular pencil, or whatever they choose for the white)

I love that this activity hits so many different subjects for kids. Colors, counting, writing numbers, graphing and all with gummy bears which is fun for them. Hope you all enjoy this activity as much as my girls did!

Homemade finger paints

Get ready for some messy fun! I found this recipe for homemade finger paints on Pinterest and was so excited about it! It's once again another easy super fun projects to do with the little ones. Of course it can get messy, but who doesn't like a fun messy project?! Here is what you will need......

3 tbs sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup corn starch
2 cups water
food coloring

Mix together all the ingredients into a saucepan and warm up the liquid till it thickens up. I continued to add more corn starch and water little by little to get the consistency that I preferred. After it has hit the consistency that you prefer pour into jars/containers that you would like to store them in and put your colors of choice in each container. I let Rylee choose which one she wanted:)
AND...............Vua-Lah!!
You have a fun colorful activity for your children:)
Warning:Make sure it has cooled down before you allow your children to play in it.

Rylee loved it!! By the end of her playing her hand was covered and there were hand prints all over the paper! Hope you guys enjoy this homemade finger paints and don't get too messy ;)

Here is another fun song Rylee's teacher sent home with her today!

Sing the song with the tune of "Skip To My Lou"

B,b here is a B
B,b here is a B
B,b here is a B
Here is a B for me

B, b her is a book
B, b her is a book
B, b her is a book
Here is a book for me

B, b her is a ball
B, b her is a ball
B, b her is a ball
Here is a ball for me

B, b her is a bed
B, b her is a bed
B, b her is a bed
Here is a bed for me

You can continue to sing this song with different B words. Helps them learn and under stand their letter B:) Rylee's teacher is too cute and always has fun songs or activities for them to do!

Homemade play dough

I have always wanted to make homemade play dough! It seems like it has become very popular to do and is very inexpensive. Most of the ingredients are just in your cupboards at home!

Ingredients and measurements
2 cups flour
2 cups warm water
1 cup salt
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 Tablespoon cream of tartar

Combine all the ingredients in a medium size pan and cook on medium heat untill ingredients start to seperate from the sides and become a solid ball.

After it is cooked take it out of the pan and knead it a little bit then seperate into how ever many colors you would like to make.

A few drops of food coloring and a bit of kneading you will soon have your colored play dough!!
Play dough is awesome! You can use it for fun or fun learning purposes and it will keep your children entertained for hours! (At least it does for my child)
Super easy! Hope you all enjoy!!!:)
